All of a sudden, RedXIII has a new blog! w00t!

Anyway, I have been doing all manners of things, and, I just realized. I played Mechcommander 1 again, after playing MC2, and I just realized how much I simply like Mechcommander 2 compared to Mechcommander 1. Here are the pros of each when compared to the other.

MC2:

1: The ability to save in-game.

2: The support option has been refined, and vehicle deployment was included in as support rather than forcing you to give up tonnage space. This made more incentive to actually USE the vehicles.

3: The graphics was a LOT better.

4: There were the annoying small things as well. I liked MC2's feature of putting your mouse over a turret/gate controller, and seeing what turrets it does and does not control. MC1 lacked this, which caused many headaches.

5: While both storylines were not very good. As MC1 used the old recycled 'DAVION GOOD GUY! JAGUAR BAD GUY!' storyline and MC2 had the old recycled 'DAVION GOOD GUY! LIAO AND STEINER BAD GUY!' storyline. Although, admittingly, MC2 takes the trophy here by simply doing a FAR Better job of bringing the storyline to life.

6: The way the mechs worked. A, W, and J Variant? Come on people, do not restrict me like this!

MC1:

1: Admittingly, MC1 is far easier on the computers. It is not a RAM Hog, and takes little HDD space. Very recommended if your low.

2: MC1 was also a little less restrictive on vehicles.

I am now running a new bar and grill. the SLS Manassas Bar and Grill on the Classicbattletech.com Forums. I killed James Cromwell, put his head on a silver platter, and ate the rest of him.

His head is on sale for 1 Million C-Bills. Also, there is a brand new attraction, the 'Self-combusting Garbage Can', which has gathered a cult around itself. The SCGB is currently protected by 4 SLDF Elite Guard. Do not attempt to steal it.

Other than that, and modding a game, nothing is going on.

Buzy Buzy Buzy.

With working on two Homeworld 2 Mods (In both I am storyline writers), and school Final Exams, things have been getting rather hectic for me to post blogs here. So that explains the silence.

What else do I have to talk about?

Battletech's future, with this whole Dark Age thing, predicting the future of Battletech in general is rather difficult. At the current rate we are going, unless a "Golden Age" Comes and comes fast, we might be facing a literal "Dark Age" of industry. Industry has YET to recover from the horrors of the Jihad, much less the succession wars and Amaris conflict. The Battletech writers will eventually go into a fork in the road, either they stop the wars for a nice period of time and create a true Starleague that lasts a while, or the Writers will finally close the Battletech book and Humanity will blow themselves up to the stone ages.

It is quite clear that the Battletech writers are purging militudes of factions, Mostly obscure and little-fanbase factions such as many of the Clans, Mercs, and even a Inner Sphere House.

However, it is quite clear with the Smoke Jaguars that everybody, with exception of House Davion, should fear the day that the writers may decide to purge their faction.

Draconis Combine:

Ahhh, the Draconis Combine, on the list of "factions I considered joining but decided not to." The primary reason being that the DC literally were the first ones to herald the distruction of the original Starleague. One of the main things that I chose a faction with was how large their support of the Starleague. I, for one, am a huge Starleague loyalist (Kind of made me chose Terran Hegemony naturally, eh?), and since the DC really were not large supporters, well well.

But what the hell, the Terran Hegemony shall rise from the ashes of the Republic of the Sphere and forge a new and true Starleague. Since all the Amaris decendants are dead, there is no needst to worry about another Amaris.
